Baseball Game Preview: Crismon Rattlers vs. Forest Grove Vikings

The Crismon Rattlers will square off against the Forest Grove Vikings at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Crismon's favor as the squad sits on ten straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Forest Grove has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Forest Grove's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Saturday: Crismon hadn't allowed a single run the last five times they've hit the field. Crismon's pitchers stepped up to hand Gunnison a 20-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Rattlers, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

Aaron Sanchez looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aaden Lopez, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Easton Wilsford was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

Crismon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive contests.

Forest Grove not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 22, 2024. They blew past La Junta 13-3. The Vikings' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Crismon's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Forest Grove, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
