Soccer Recap: Columbus Comes Up Short

Columbus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Aplington-Parkersburg Falcons. The game was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Columbus couldn't quite close it out.

Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Aplington-Parkersburg, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Columbus is set to challenge their familiar foe Hudson at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Aplington-Parkersburg will square off against rival Gladbrook-Reinbeck at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
