Recap: Marysville Indians vs. Wheatland Pirates
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Twelve Bridges, the Marysville Indians were happy to have found some success on Monday. They blew past Wheatland 53-22 on the road. Given Marysville's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 459th, while Wheatland is ranked 1221st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Josiah Arrington was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Walker, who scored 13 points along with three blocks and two steals.
Marysville is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Wheatland, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-14.
Marysville will take on Lindhurst at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lindhurst has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 20. As for Wheatland, they will head out on the road to take on Bear River at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
