Football Game Preview: Seaforth Hawks vs. Croatan Cougars

The Seaforth Hawks will face off against the Croatan Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Seaforth is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They slipped by South Brunswick 29-28. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.

Duncan Parker produced another solid performance throwing for 307 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 105 yards. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in September.

Meanwhile, Croatan didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Dixon two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 46-42 victory. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Andrew Boucher and JJ Gulat. Boucher had a great game and rushed for 184 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 9.7 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Gulat was balling out in the loss, rushing for 253 yards and five scores while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also throwing for 102 yards.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Croatan, racking up 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Boucher, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Seaforth now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Croatan, their record is now 9-1.
