             Spackenkill has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will venture away from home to  face off against the Fallsburg Comets  at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. Spackenkill's defense has only allowed 12.4  points per game  this season, so Fallsburg's offense will have their work cut out for them.
 Last Friday, Spackenkill didn't have too much trouble with Rondout Valley at home   as they won  24-8.
 Spackenkill can attribute much of their success to  Bryan Hoyt, who rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.
 He was just one part of a punishing run game: Spackenkill was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 215  rushing yards. That's a new  trend for them: they were averaging 90  rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last three matchups they've averaged 194.3.
 Meanwhile, Fallsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight  defeat  dating back to last season. They were  outmatched by Red Hook on the road  and fell  35-8.
 Spackenkill pushed their record up to 5-2 with the  victory, which was their fifth straight  at home dating back to last season. As for Fallsburg, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
 Everything came up roses for Spackenkill against Fallsburg in their previous matchup  back in October of 2019, as the  team secured  a  38-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Spackenkill since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
