Baseball Game Preview: Warsaw Wildcats vs. Eldon Mustangs

The Warsaw Wildcats will take on the Eldon Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eldon took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Warsaw, who comes in off a win.

On Saturday, Warsaw made easy work of Sherwood and carried off an 11-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 13 matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Eldon didn't have quite enough to beat Sullivan on Monday and fell 6-4.

Braden Bk Bennett was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Bennett was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other pitching news, Eldon got a good showing from Braden Wrye, who pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Wrye has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Colten Bashore made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Lincoln Salsman also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Eldon dropped their record down to 12-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.67 runs. As for Warsaw, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-7.
