Volleyball Game Preview: Seckman Jaguars vs. Festus Tigers

Seckman and Festus are an even 4-4-2 against one another since October of 2016, but not for long. The Jaguars are taking a road trip to take on the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Seckman extended their road winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Meghan Holt. The Jaguars came out on top against Ladue Horton Watkins by a score of 3-1 on Thursday for which the team can thank Holt, who had three digs and three aces. She is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Seckman had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-23, 25-19, 25-14.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Festus duked it out with Leopold on Saturday. The Tigers blew past the Wildcats 3-0. The Tigers not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since September 23rd (when they won 3-0).

Festus never let Leopold on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-11, 25-12.

Seckman's record now sits at 20-7-2. As for Festus, their record is now 18-9-2.

Seckman skirted past Festus 2-1 when the teams last played back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
