Baseball Recap: Hulbert Beats Chouteau-Mazie for Their Third Straight Victory

Hulbert put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Chouteau-Mazie Wildcats with a sharp 12-4 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-7 on Monday.

Logan Beeler was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits.

In other batting news, Ethan Thompson was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ty Wynn, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Hulbert always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chouteau-Mazie only posted an OBP of .391.

Hulbert's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Chouteau-Mazie, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Coming up, Hulbert is taking a road trip to face off against Copan at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Chouteau-Mazie, they will challenge Colcord at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chouteau-Mazie has given up an average of 7.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
