Baseball Recap: Johnson City Picks Up 16th Consecutive Victory

Johnson City had already won 15 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it 16 on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Mason Punchers with a sharp 8-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 15 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Johnson City's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Mason, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-3.

Johnson City and Mason should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Johnson City will challenge Marble Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday up 362 places (155 vs. 517). Meanwhile, Mason (ranked 334th) will meet Center Point (ranked 1269th) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
