Football Recap: Louisville Takes Down Ranked Noxubee County

Louisville faced Noxubee County in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Wildcats managed a 25-20 win over the Tigers. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 28-13 loss the last time these two teams met.

Zaiden Jernigan was his usual excellent self, rushing for 196 yards and a pair of scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Louisville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 233 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 171 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Louisville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of I'Marrion Parker and Ayden Coleman. Another thorn in Noxubee County's side was Jordan Hunt, who made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss).

When it comes to explaining why Noxubee County lost, don't look at Laderoun Mosely. Despite the final result, he rushed for 101 yards and one TD on only 14 carries. Mosely is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 101 every time he's taken the field this season.

Louisville now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Noxubee County, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Louisville will head out to face off against Yazoo City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Wildcats their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Noxubee County, they will venture away from home to square off against Philadelphia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Tornadoes' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
