Volleyball Recap: Altoona Comes Up Short

Altoona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Cedar Cliff Colts. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Colts this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in September.

Altoona took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-20, 25-21.

Annalyse Yost paced Altoona's offense, picking up five kills. Yost got some help from Maraya Bittner and her nine assists. Yost was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Altoona's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14-1. As for Cedar Cliff, with the victory, they broke their four-match losing streak and moved their record to 2-9.

Looking ahead, Altoona is taking a road trip to challenge Williamsport at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Cedar Cliff, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Red Land at 6:30 p.m.
