St. Mary Cathedral is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They came up short against Pickford, falling 14-8.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Johannesburg-Lewiston). Everything went their way against Central Lake on Friday as they made off with a 15-5 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cardinals as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Kyler Nowak was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those runs were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Donnie Wojtkowiak, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Johannesburg-Lewiston always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central Lake only posted an OBP of .435.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-5. As for St. Mary Cathedral, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

St. Mary Cathedral couldn't quite finish off Johannesburg-Lewiston when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 7-5. Can the Snowbirds avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
