Basketball Recap: Moorefield Takes a Loss

Moorefield and Doddridge County squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Moorefield had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Doddridge County Bulldogs 74-39. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-32 back in February.

Doddridge County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Blake Mitchell out in front who shot 71% from the field en route to 14 points and five boards. Landon Thomas was another key player, putting up ten points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Moorefield has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. Doddridge County pushed their record up to 19-4 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

Moorefield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Doddridge County, they will be playing at home against Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Doddridge County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.8 points per game this season.
