Volleyball Recap: Asheboro Starts off Right with Win over Jordan-Matthews

Asheboro took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Jordan-Matthews Jets as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Blue Comets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-12, 25-20.

Lia George paced Asheboro's offense, picking up 12 kills. George got some help from Eva Vuncannon and her 23 assists. Cora Little controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Asheboro will be playing in front of their home fans against Wheatmore at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jordan-Matthews, they will venture away from home to challenge Chatham Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
