Volleyball Recap: Mead Raiders vs. Falls City Tigers
Mead lost against Falls City back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Raiders lost 3-0 to the Tigers.
While Mead was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-22, 25-15.
Aubree Broekemeier paced Mead's offense, picking up six kills. Broekemeier got some help from Hadley Havelka and her eight assists. Riley Koranda controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Gabi Young was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 16 digs and one assist. She has been hot recently, having posted 14 or more digs the last four times she's played.
Mead has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-18 record this season. As for Falls City, their victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 15-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mead will host Lyons-Decatur Northeast at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Falls City, they will square off against Louisville at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
