Baseball Game Preview: Overton Mustangs vs. Gary Bobcats

The Overton Mustangs will challenge the Gary Bobcats at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Overton comes in on 12 and Gary on four.

Overton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They never let Bowie get on the board and left with a 5-0 win.

Jayden Edwards was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Mason Rowe was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Gary duked it out with Lovelady on Thursday. The Bobcats walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Lions.

Overton's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Gary, their win bumped their record up to 18-10.
