Basketball Recap: South Fork Takes a Loss

South Fork lost against Eureka back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The South Fork Cubs took a blow against the Eureka Loggers, falling 75-46. While losing is never fun, the Cubs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 760th, while the Loggers are ranked 350th).

Eureka got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Xavier De La Rosa out in front who posted 15 points and six boards. That's the most points De La Rosa has posted since back in December of 2024. Makai Dennon was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.

South Fork dropped their record down to 10-9 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Eureka, their win bumped their record up to 15-7.

South Fork wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 76-47 victory against Hoopa Valley on the 30th. As for Eureka, they have also already played their next matchup, a 79-57 win against Del Norte on the 30th.
