Volleyball Recap: New Britain Comes Up Short

New Britain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Rocky Hill Terriers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Terriers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

While New Britain ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-23, 25-22.

Sha'Nya Roberts paced New Britain's offense, picking up five kills. Roberts got some help from Avery Ostralt and her ten assists. Ostralt was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

New Britain's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Rocky Hill, their win ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 8-9.

Coincidentally, New Britain and Rocky Hill will both be playing Newington the next time they take the court. The Golden Hurricanes will host the Nor'easters at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Terriers will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
