Berkeley Prep had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Parrish Community Bulls. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Buccaneers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Holland Poe was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Hannah Cronin also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Berkeley Prep's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Parrish Community, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-2.

Berkeley Prep will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Palm Harbor University at 4:30 p.m. on March 27th. After both having extra time off, Parrish Community and Venice will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field one another at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Parrish Community 2.4, Venice 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
