Soccer Game Preview: Compton vs. Long Beach Poly

Compton hasn't had much luck against Long Beach Poly recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Compton Tarbabes will square off against the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits at 7:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Friday just wasn't the day for Compton's offense. They fell just short of Lakewood by a score of 1-0 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Tarbabes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 779th, while the Lancers are ranked 266th).

Meanwhile, Long Beach Poly managed to keep up with Millikan until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Long Beach Poly lost 3-0 to Millikan.

Long Beach Poly's loss dropped their record down to 3-5-6. As for Compton, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8-2.

Compton came up short against Long Beach Poly in their previous meeting back in January, falling 2-0. Can Compton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
