Baseball Recap: Otay Ranch Gets the Win

Otay Ranch let Olympian stack four runs on them in the second inning on Wednesday but luckily Otay Ranch prevailed anyway. The Mustangs walked away with an 8-5 win over the Eagles. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Otay Ranch got a great performance from Orlando Sivilla as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Sivilla has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Jake Medina was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and one RBI. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high.

Otay Ranch's win bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Olympian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-9-1.

Coincidentally, Otay Ranch and Olympian will both be playing Sweetwater the next time they take the field. The Eagles will host the Red Devils at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Mustangs will host them at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
