Baseball Recap: St. Paul Lutheran Takes a Loss

Sacred Heart hit St. Paul Lutheran with a five-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Saints fell just short of the Gremlins by a score of 9-8. If the Saints were looking for revenge after losing 17-8 to the Gremlins when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ty McGinnis and Micah Truwe stepped up to the plate in a big way. McGinnis got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, while Truwe went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. McGinnis has become a key player for St. Paul Lutheran: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7 otherwise.

St. Paul Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Sacred Heart, their victory bumped their record up to 8-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Paul Lutheran will square off against Pleasant Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Sacred Heart, they will take on Eldon at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
