High Point Central is 1-9 against Southern Guilford since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Friday. The Bison will be playing at home against the Storm  at 6:00  p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
High Point Central is headed in fresh off scoring the most  runs they have   all season. They blew past Ben L. Smith 26-6 on Thursday. The  win continues a trend for the Bison in their matchups with the Golden Eagles: they've now won eight in a row.
Meanwhile, Southern Guilford entered their tilt with Dudley on Thursday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp  22-5 victory.
 Naomi Hunt was a  major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off   one  hit. What's more,  she posted four  strikeouts, the most she's  had since back in February. She was even better at the plate,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with three  runs, two  doubles,  and one  triple.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Madison Goins, who  fired off two  home runs, three  runs,  and four  RBI while going 3-for-3. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was  Cemiah Barringer, who  went 2-for-4 with two  triples, three  runs,  and four  RBI.
 Southern Guilford  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 21  hits. That's the most  hits they've managed all season.
 Southern Guilford pushed their record up to 10-3 with the  win, which was their fourth straight  on the road. Those  road  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for High Point Central, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.
