Basketball Recap: Kyjana Jordan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Effingham County over Greenbrier

Effingham County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss. They took a 51-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greenbrier Wolfpack. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 50-33 back in January.

Several Rebels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kyjana Jordan, who posted 22 points. Another player making a difference was Nakera M Hawkins, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 24 rebounds.

Greenbrier's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addisen Odom, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards. Jayla Ayler was another key player, putting up 14 points and five steals.

Effingham County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Greenbrier, their victory bumped their record up to 8-14.

Effingham County has already played their next match, a 65-46 loss against Evans on the 4th. As for Greenbrier, they will face off against Lakeside at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th.
