Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Donovan). They came out on top against the Tri-Point Chargers by a score of 61-48 on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their 11-game losing streak.
Donovan got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Braden Klecan out in front who went 9 for 15 en route to 20 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. Those 20 points gave Klecan a new career-high. Brendan Hennieke was another key player, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds.
Donovan's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-14. As for Tri-Point, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-17.
Donovan will welcome Kankakee Trinity Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kankakee Trinity Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.1 points per game this season. As for Tri-Point, they will square off against Beecher at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th.
