Baseball Recap: Berea Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Barbourville, Berea was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They never let the Model Patriots get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. The Pirates have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Patriots, too.

Nathan Prophitt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Berea's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Blake King, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Those two runs gave King a new career-high.

The win got Berea back to even at 2-2. As for Model, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berea will face off against Barbourville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Model, they will take on Pulaski County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
