While losing is never fun, Wayne Preparatory Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Eastern Wayne is ranked 22nd).
Despite the loss, Wayne Preparatory Academy still got an impressive performance from D'Asiah Lassiter, who scored 10 points along with 9 rebounds.
Wayne Preparatory Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Eastern Wayne, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wayne Preparatory Academy will face off against Wayne Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eastern Wayne, they will head out on the road to face off against Greene Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
