Softball Recap: Tascosa Takes a Loss

Tascosa was the 9-1 winner over Plainview when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Tascosa came up short against Plainview on Friday, falling 9-1.

Christmas Morris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and five unearned) runs on 11 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kaylei San Miguel was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Reece Corea, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Tascosa's loss dropped their record down to 15-17. As for Plainview, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-14.

Looking ahead, Tascosa will venture away from home to challenge Caprock at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Plainview, they will host Monterey at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
