Softball Recap: Crawfordsville's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Crawfordsville had to endure a 14-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Lafayette Central Catholic Knights 15-5 on Monday. The Athenians' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

Christina Susdorf and Tori Truax did most of the damage at the plate: Susdorf fired off four runs, three doubles, and one triple while going 4-for-5, while Truax went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Truax a new career-high. Sabella Moore was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases.

Crawfordsville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Crawfordsville's win bumped their record up to 2-17. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.

The Athenians are facing the Chargin' Chargers at the right time seeing as the Chargin' Chargers are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, they will challenge Seeger at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.41 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
