Laurel is a perfect 10-0 against Bladensburg since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Laurel will take on Bladensburg. Laurel will be strutting in after a win while Bladensburg will be coming in after a defeat.

On Wednesday, Laurel made easy work of Wise and carried off an 8-2 victory. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Pumas recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

CJ DeTurris was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 15 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and only one walk). DeTurris was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Josh LaClair, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Another player making a difference was Aiden Lee, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Bladensburg had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against Northwestern on Saturday, falling 18-8. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 26 in a row.

Laurel's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Bladensburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Laurel took their win against Bladensburg in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 24-1. Does Laurel have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bladensburg turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
