Imperial is a perfect 10-0 against Palo Verde Valley since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Imperial will look to defend their home field against Palo Verde Valley at 7:00 p.m. The timing isn't great for Imperial: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Palo Verde Valley has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road.
Imperial took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Calexico, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Imperial had just enough and edged out Calexico 7-6 on Friday.

Ruben Magos looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.
At the plate, Imperial let Logan Fisher and Izaiah Perez run wild. Fisher scored a run while going 3-for-3, while Perez scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Fisher a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Higginbotham, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Imperial was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Palo Verde Valley hadn't done well against Holtville recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Palo Verde Valley skirted past Holtville 3-2.
Drew Wright spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Palo Verde Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Aguilar, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Imperial's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Palo Verde Valley, their win bumped their record up to 9-2-1.
Imperial came out on top in a nail-biter against Palo Verde Valley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 9-7. Does Imperial have another victory up their sleeve, or will Palo Verde Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
