Softball Game Preview: North Forney Falcons vs. Rockwall-Heath Hawks

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when North Forney Falcons challenge Rockwall-Heath Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Forney will be strutting in after a win while Rockwall-Heath will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, North Forney turned things around against Tyler Legacy on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 15-4 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Falcons considering their one-run performance the game before.

Abigail Gallardo looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Aundrea Wilson was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Natalie Rodriguez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

North Forney always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tyler Legacy only posted an OBP of .346.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Rockwall-Heath was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They came up short against Van Alstyne, falling 7-1.

Rockwall-Heath saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Morin, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Rockwall-Heath has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for North Forney, their win bumped their record up to 11-15-1.

North Forney skirted past Rockwall-Heath 15-13 in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
