Baseball Recap: East Grand Forks Wins Going Away Against Crookston

East Grand Forks's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Crookston Pirates with a sharp 19-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Green Wave, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Noah Frize made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, East Grand Forks got a massive performance out of Cole Schmiedeberg, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with six RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those six RBI gave Schmiedeberg a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Nowacki, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

East Grand Forks kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.

East Grand Forks' record now sits at 12-2. As for Crookston, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

East Grand Forks will face off against Warroad at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Crookston, they will take on Lake Park-Audubon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
