Basketball Recap: Ruskin Comes Up Short

Ruskin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 22nd straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Platte County Pirates and fell 70-16. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 346th, while the Pirates are ranked 78th).

Ruskin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Platte County, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Ruskin won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Grain Valley at 7:00 p.m. on January 20, 2025. After both having extra time off, Platte County and North Kansas City will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. North Kansas City has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests.
