The Wisner-Pilger Gators's 15-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They walked away with a 59-46 victory over Clarkson/Leigh. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Wisner-Pilger has managed all season.

Despite the loss, Clarkson/Leigh saw an underclassman step up: Tucker Matthies scored 13 points along with two steals. Christian Hamernik was another key contributor, scoring seven points.

Even though they lost, Clarkson/Leigh smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Wisner-Pilger's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-14. As for Clarkson/Leigh, they dropped their record down to 0-14 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Wisner-Pilger will look to defend their home court on Thursday against North Bend Central. North Bend Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wisner-Pilger in Nebraska (North Bend Central is ranked 64th, while Wisner-Pilger is ranked 265th). As for Clarkson/Leigh, they will head out on the road to square off against Bancroft-Rosalie at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
