Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Maranatha Christian Eagles walked away with it. They blew past Rock Academy 35-14. Maranatha Christian's offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.
Maranatha Christian's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Karlsen Drake, who rushed for 71 yards and three touchdowns. JD Class did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 111 receiving yards.
Maranatha Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Rock Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Maranatha Christian will head out on the road to face off against Holtville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Holtville is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games. Rock Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
