Basketball Recap: Trenton Boessen's Big Game Can't Quite Lead New Bloomfield over South Callaway

New Bloomfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. The contest between the New Bloomfield Wildcats and the South Callaway Bulldogs didn't end well, with the New Bloomfield Wildcats falling 70-52. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 66-60 loss last Friday.

New Bloomfield's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trenton Boessen, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten boards. Those ten rebounds gave Boessen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Massman, who posted six points in addition to six boards and three blocks.

New Bloomfield's loss dropped their record down to 7-19. As for South Callaway, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-12.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats face off against the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. South Callaway does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
