Softball Recap: Plano East Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Plano East and Flower Mound squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Plano East had to settle for second. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jaguars. The Panthers have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Jadyn Dawson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and five unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Julia Wilson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Gina Martin was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Plano East's loss dropped their record down to 27-11. As for Flower Mound, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-7-1.

As of now, neither Plano East nor the Jaguars have any future games scheduled.
