An exciting North v. South battle is about to be fought. The Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest Javelinas are taking a road trip to square off against the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North Raiders at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial a 1-0 shutout. Given the Javelinas' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while the Wolverines are ranked 439th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 6-0 to Rowe.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest was able to grind out a solid victory over Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 2-0.
