Recap: Sheridan Rams vs. The Pinnacle Timberwolves
This season hasn't been kind to the Sheridan Rams, who are still winless after their eighth matchup. They were beaten by The Pinnacle 59-29 on Thursday. Sheridan has not had much luck with The Pinnacle recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Sheridan lost, one person who can't be blamed is Armando Monarrez. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Bobby Garcia was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals.
Caleb Arellano continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for The Pinnacle, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Arellano has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Agustin Jaime, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Sheridan's defeat was their 15th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-8. As for The Pinnacle, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sheridan will challenge Englewood at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Englewood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday. As for The Pinnacle, they will head out on the road to challenge Jefferson at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Jefferson has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 4.
