Basketball Recap: David Neaves and Richaun Martin Secure Win for Christ Chapel Academy

Christ Chapel Academy won the last time they faced Covenant Christian Academy and things went their way on Friday too. Christ Chapel Academy came out on top against the Covenant Christian Academy Golden Eagles by a score of 54-47. The win made it back-to-back victories for Christ Chapel Academy.

Leading Christ Chapel Academy to victory were Richaun Martin and David Neaves. Martin posted 20 points, while Neaves earned 15 points. Neaves is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 13 games he's played dating back to last season.

Covenant Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Candland, who had 22 points. That was a full 46.8% of Covenant Christian Academy's points, marking the third time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Alibaruho, who put up 15 points.

Christ Chapel Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Covenant Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Christ Chapel Academy will face off against Trinity Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Covenant Christian Academy, they will challenge Chelsea Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
