Countryside had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Tarpon Springs Spongers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Cody Hollenbeck spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Countryside saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyle Muise, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Countryside pushed their record up to 15-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Tarpon Springs, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.

Countryside will challenge Warren East at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tarpon Springs, they will take on Clearwater at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spongers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tornadoes have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
