Softball Game Preview: New Brockton Gamecocks vs. Ariton Purple Cats

New Brockton hasn't had much luck against Ariton recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Gamecocks will venture away from home to square off against the Purple Cats at 3:00 p.m. Ariton took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on New Brockton, who comes in off a win.

New Brockton is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Samson with a sharp 19-10 victory on Thursday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 18 runs the game before, Ariton was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They lost 10-2 to Long. The Purple Cats have struggled against the Rebels recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

New Brockton's win bumped their record up to 4-14. As for Ariton, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8-1.

New Brockton suffered a grim 14-0 defeat to Ariton in their previous matchup back in February. Can the Gamecocks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
