Preview: Skyline Spartans vs. Redmond Mustangs

The Skyline Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Redmond Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Skyline is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.

Skyline had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against Kentridge on Saturday as Skyline made off with a 22-0 victory. Skyline's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Abby Haapala made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched. Haapala was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four RBI and a double.

In other batting news, Shea Staley was incredible, going 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Sarah Parker, who scored four runs while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Redmond faced Issaquah in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Redmond came out on top against Issaquah by a score of 8-5. Winning may never get old, but Redmond sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

Aubrey Bauer was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Kati Cygan was another key contributor, going 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.
