Football Game Preview: Fulton Falcons vs. Union County Patriots

The Fulton Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Union County Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fulton comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Fulton faced off against Gibbs on Friday. The Falcons took a blow against the Eagles, falling 51-7. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-0.

Fulton might have lost, but man, Jamil Smith was a machine: he rushed for 78 yards and one score. Smith really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run.

Meanwhile, Union County played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Anderson County 84-20. The defeat continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Mavericks: they've now lost four in a row.

Fulton will need to focus on slowing down Jaxson Hayes, one of several Union County players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 95 receiving yards and three TDs. Bryton Beeler also helped out with an impressive 123 receiving yards.

Fulton's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Union County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Everything came up roses for Fulton against Union County when the teams last played back in October of 2016, as the squad secured a 62-6 win. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
