Softball Recap: Lone Star Triumphs

While Lone Star's win against Turner wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rangers narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Lions 4-3. The win continues a trend for the Rangers in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won eight in a row.

BellaLucia Cantu spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Gillian Lassley was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brynnlee Wormer, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Lone Star's record is now 16-9. As for Turner, they now have a losing record of 11-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Lone Star will head out to challenge Wakeland at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rangers will need to watch out since the Wolverines have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests. As for Turner, they are taking a road trip to square off against Reedy at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Reedy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Turner's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
