Softball Game Preview: Rainier Beach Vikings vs. Chief Sealth Seahawks

Rainier Beach hasn't had much luck against Chief Sealth recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Rainier Beach Vikings are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will square off against the Chief Sealth Seahawks at 4:00 p.m.

Rainier Beach is leaving town to face Chief Sealth after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Rainier Beach lost 30-0 to Franklin on Tuesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 13 in a row.

Chief Sealth never got on the board in their matchup on Saturday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Ingraham on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 13-11 win over the Rams. The victory was some much needed relief for the Seahawks as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Rainier Beach suffered a grim 15-2 defeat to Chief Sealth in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can Rainier Beach avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
