Volleyball Recap: Air Academy Kadets vs. Palmer Ridge Bears        
        
		
             Air Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight  loss. They took  a  3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Palmer Ridge Bears. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Kadets of the  3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in September.
 Air Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-20, 25-8,  25-8.
 Air Academy's loss  came despite strong showings from  Aurelia Matzelle and  Elly Siebert.  Matzelle  had nine  digs and six  kills, while  Siebert  had seven  kills and a  block.
 Palmer Ridge got their  win on the backs of several key players, but it was  Melanie Pierce out in front who  had six  digs and three  aces. That's the most  aces  Pierce has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was  Jayce Campbell, who  had six  digs and 18  assists.
 Air Academy's record now sits at 4-7. As for Palmer Ridge, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record  this season.
 Air Academy has already played their next matchup,  a  2-1  loss against Douglas County on the 12th. As for Palmer Ridge, they will venture away from home to  take on Lewis-Palmer  at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Lewis-Palmer has won five straight at home, while Palmer Ridge won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
