Basketball Game Preview: Hinkley Thunder vs. DMLK Panthers

The Hinkley Thunder will take on the DMLK Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 37 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Hinkley and five for DMLK.

Hinkley is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They lost 50-30 to KIPP Denver Collegiate on Tuesday.

Hinkley's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Uniece Reynolds, who posted 11 points, and Alaysha Ramos Vazquez, who scored seven points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave Ramos Vazquez a new career-high in points.

Meanwhile, DMLK didn't have quite enough to beat DSST: Conservatory Green on Tuesday and fell 46-43.

Hinkley will need to focus on slowing down Dez DIAZ, one of several DMLK players who made an impact when they last played. She earned 13 points. Another player making a difference was Tay Hugley, who put up ten points.

DMLK's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Hinkley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-19.
