St. Bede can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They blew past the Durand Bulldogs 13-1. Considering the Bruins have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Macy Strauch made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Strauch was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, St. Bede got a massive performance out of Macy Kelly, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Kelly has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Balestri, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
St. Bede was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
St. Bede's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Durand, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
Coming up, St. Bede will welcome Somonauk at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Durand, they will head out on the road to face off against Forreston at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs are facing the Cardinals at the right time seeing as the Cardinals are stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
